DURA-MILES CHALLENGE SARAWAK 2017 WITH ISUZU’S CUSTOMERS

20 May 2017 – Isuzu Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (IMSB) organized the Dura-Miles Challenge 2017 in Kuching, Sarawak to showcase the fuel efficiency of the award-winning D-Max as well as to stay connected to their loyal customers. About 29of their existing customers took part in the challenge.

The route started in “Taman RekriasiBatuKawah (MJC)” to Sematan Palm Beach Resort, and back to MJC,a distance of approximately 208 km, taking 4 hours to complete.

Unlike most other competitions where speed of completion was the criteria for winning, in this one, the driver who completed the entire journey with the lowest fuel consumption was declared the winner.

This competition objective is to test one of D-Max key strength, fuel efficient and at the same time to stay connected to the customers. Isuzu is well known of building the vehicle that has extremely low fuel consumption. Fuel efficiency is one of the most important factors to the environment, company’s economy and to the consumers nowadays as the price of fuel has steadily increased since mid-2016.

Speaking during the flag off ceremony, Executive Director of IMSB Hajime Machimura emphasized the Isuzu brand’s core values durability, reliability and fuel efficiency.

“From year to year, our D-Max innovation and evolution has made it a preferred pick up truck for motorists due to its performance, comfort, dependability and certainly its fuel efficiency. To push our product limit, we did our third attempt to test our D-Max fuel efficiency in Dura-Miles Challenge 2015. We have drove to Bangkok and travelled across 3 countries in 4 days with just one full tank of diesel. The distance covered is 1,809 km which averages at 24 km per liter of fuel. Thus far, our D-Max has never failed to impress us in terms of its economical fuel consumption.”

“This time around, we would like our customers to experience the fuel efficiency themselves by participating in this competition and have fun at the same time. We hope our customers are able to realise how far they can go with just a little fuel in their D-Max and that they have made a good choice by owning Isuzu D-Max.”

There were two categories namely the Isuzu D-Max 2.5-liter engine and 3.0-liter engine. The winner of 2.5-liter engine, Mr.Jerry Anak Wan Jokhas travelled 208 km with only 10.62 liters of diesel.
