Alor Setar, 5th September 2026. Over 1,000 cyclists took to the streets of Alor Setar today in conjunction with the 16th Cycle For Health programme organized together by Isuzu Malaysia and its northern dealer Indah Utara.
The fun ride that covered some 60km around the city was flagged off at 7am by the Right Honourable Mayor of Alor Setar Dato’ Haji Abdul Gafar bin Yahya together with the Chief Executive Officer of Isuzu Malaysia Tomoyuki Yamaguchi, Prime Minister’s Political Secretary YB Tuan Chan Ming Kai, Kedah state dignitary YB Teh Swee Leong, City Council Member Dato’ Ch’ng Boon Chye, management team from Isuzu Malaysia, Isuzu Motors, Indah Utara, Environment Indah and LM Bikers.
Organised for the fifth consecutive year, the Cycle For Health event saw riders take in the sights along a 60km route beginning from the Indah Utara Isuzu 4S Centre on Jalan Gangsa before passing such landmarks as Masjid Zahir, Menara Alor Setar, Aman Central and Tun Dr.Mahathir’s birth home before returning to the showroom.
Aimed at offering cycling enthusiasts with a fun and safe platform to enjoy their pursuits, the Isuzu Cycle For Health event was also organized to promote the healthy benefits of cycling.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr Yamaguchi took the opportunity to thank the participants and officials who helped make the event a big success.
“Events such as this Cycle for Health offers us not only the opportunity to enjoy our favourite past time riding around the city, it also allows us to enjoy it in a clean and safe environment with ample support and safety for everyone. For that, we have the cooperation of participants and all the officials to thank,” said Yamaguchi.
Following their ride, the cyclists returned to the showroom where they were treated to an excellent spread of refreshments, entertainment from the SMK St. Michael’s band and the opportunity to win fabulous prizes in the lucky draw.
