Gua Musang, 04 July 2026 – Isuzu vehicles have long been recognized for their durable and fuel-efficient performance. Generations of users have depended on Isuzu to get any job done well due to its exceptionally dependable performance.

As Japan’s oldest automotive company, Isuzu has dedicated years of development to create some of the most capable products in the world, appealing to millions of users in every corner of the globe.

In Malaysia, Isuzu trucks remain the top choice and have been for the past 12 consecutive years. The D-MAX pick-up trucks too have been gaining in popularity and is currently Malaysia’s second most popular pick-up truck.

This weekend, Isuzu showcased its current range of products including Malaysia’s best-selling NPR trucks and Malaysia’s first automatic single cab, the 2.2-litre D-MAX Single Cab at the annual Gua Musang Durian Fest.

Speaking at the event held at the Dewan Sivik Gua Musang, CEO of Isuzu Malaysia Tomoyuki Yamaguchi explained that Isuzu vehicles were engineered to perform exceptionally even in extreme applications whether on long highways or in rugged durian plantations.

“Isuzu has always been depended upon to perform flawlessly whether in the extreme cold of the Antarctic or fetching tons of valuable Musang King from rugged and steep durian plantations. Our latest models including the 2.2-litre Automatic Single Cab is ideally-suited to tackle these extreme conditions with confidence,” said Yamaguchi.

Isuzu Malaysia recently introduced the new 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine to its highly-popular Isuzu D-MAX models. Producing 8.7 percent more power over the 1.9-litre engine at 163PS at 3,600rpm, the all-new 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine also improves torque output by 14.3 percent, producing 400Nm between 1,600rpm to 2,400rpm.

Significantly, more than half of the maximum torque is generated from 1,000rpm, giving the new model very confident and quick acceleration, ideal to carry heavy loads along steep and rugged plantation tracks.

This new engine is paired to a new and highly-responsive 8-speed automatic gearbox to deliver easy driving, exceptional startability, acceleration, quiet and refined cruising and improved fuel economy.

While the new Single Cab Automatic is much easier to handle, it loses none of its core capabilities as it delivers exceptional load-carrying capability of 935kg, allowing for more efficient per trip operation.

To enhance its load carrying capability, the new 2.2-litre D-MAX Single Cab features a host of electronic driving aids including Rough Terrain Mode that automatically adjusts power delivery to the wheels that have the most grip, making off-road driving safer and less stressful while an Electronic Differential Lock in the rear axle ensures the truck is able to traverse extremely rocky or slippery conditions with confidence.

All current Isuzu D-MAX and truck variants are able to handle biodiesel blends up to B20 comfortably without issue.
